This 8-light modern chandelier is beautiful and is the perfect size for our 44" x 80" dining table. Our design is mid-century modern teak with a glass top table, and this chandelier complements the look nicely. The quality of the item is top notch, with all pieces, and there are many, fitting together extremely well. Everything is tight and plumb. The shipping container was heavy, partly because the chandelier itself, with all of the glass pieces, weighs in excess of 35 pounds, but also because all pieces are extremely well packaged to avoid breakage. Assembly, however, was not so easy. First, be sure your ceiling box can handle the weight. I needed to fortify mine to keep things level. Second, the step-by-step instructions are almost laughable. There are not many words, mostly diagrams, and many are hard to decipher because the size is small. Warnings say things like "Don't allow liquids to spill on the appliance" and "Do not set any hot items on the appliance". For a chandelier? All of the items called out in the parts list are there, but check everywhere in the box before beginning and line up the various bags in the order that they will be needed. There are some spare parts, too, but they are in a separate bag which I opened early and that just confused things. There are three down-rods provided to accommodate various ceiling heights. You can connect any two to get the desired length. I just used the longest one for my 8' ceiling. I am well competent at doing handyman jobs, but even so this was not an easy installation. If you're not adept at mechanical and electrical installations, I strongly suggest you hire someone to do it for you. It will be money well spent. That said, the style and beauty of this chandelier make the installation woes well worth it.
